Egyptian Startup Fincart Secures $2.8M to Expand AI-Powered E-commerce Operations Across Africa

Fincart, an Egyptian e-commerce operations platform, has successfully closed a $2.8 million seed funding round. This investment, co-led by Launch Africa and Antler MENAP, with participation from several other regional investors, will fuel the expansion of its AI-driven services across Africa and the Middle East. The company, founded in 2023, has evolved into a comprehensive operating system for online merchants, streamlining critical functions like shipping, customer engagement, and access to working capital.
The platform integrates with over 40 courier companies across the continent, establishing one of Africa's most extensive logistics networks. Fincart aims to utilize the new capital to enhance its artificial intelligence capabilities, grow its engineering and commercial teams, and forge strategic partnerships. The startup is preparing for a regional expansion slated to begin in 2027, building on its current base of over 450 merchants.
Fincart's development was motivated by the founders' personal experiences with the operational hurdles faced by online merchants, particularly concerning last-mile delivery and the reconciliation of cash-on-delivery payments, which are prevalent across Egypt and much of Africa. By offering a unified interface, Fincart empowers merchants to manage their sales, accelerate deliveries, and engage with customers more efficiently, addressing a significant pain point in the African e-commerce landscape.
