Bloccpay Pioneers Stablecoin Payroll for African Remote Workers, Bridging Global Income Gaps

Bloccpay, co-founded by Jennifer Echenim and Ajoke Asunmonu, is revolutionizing cross-border payroll and invoicing by leveraging stablecoins. The platform addresses significant challenges faced by remote workers and freelancers in emerging markets, particularly in Africa, who struggle with inefficient payment systems, unfavorable exchange rates, high fees, and difficulties in proving income for financial services.
Echenim's personal experiences with complicated international payments and her extensive background in blockchain development, including roles at Liquality and Nestcoin, inspired the creation of Bloccpay. The founders meticulously mapped out the payment journey, consulting with remote teams and HR managers across Africa to ensure the platform directly addresses their pain points.
Bloccpay enables businesses to automate payroll for distributed teams and allows remote workers to receive payments in fiat or crypto through various global channels. A key feature is the generation of verifiable financial records, crucial for users when applying for loans, opening bank accounts, or securing visas, thereby enhancing financial inclusion.
The platform has seen rapid growth, serving users in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa, with its business clients primarily based in the US and UK. In Q2 2026, Bloccpay's gross transaction volume increased sevenfold, matching its total transaction volume for all of 2025 by mid-year. This growth underscores the significant demand for streamlined international payment solutions in these regions.
Bloccpay routes payments across multiple blockchain networks, including Ethereum, Stellar, and Solana, utilizing stablecoins for fast and affordable transactions. By making employment truly borderless, Bloccpay aims to empower individuals in African cities like Lagos, Nairobi, and Accra to access global job opportunities without geographical limitations dictating their payment efficiency or reliability.
