MTN Enhances Skills Academy with AI-Powered Job Matching Across 11 African Nations

MTN has launched an AI-powered job board as an extension of its existing Skills Academy, aiming to directly connect young people in 11 African markets with employment opportunities. This new platform moves beyond traditional job listings by analyzing users' skill sets, suggesting relevant courses to bridge gaps, and providing tools to track applications through various stages.

The initiative is designed to address the significant youth unemployment challenge across Africa, where over 60% of the population is under 25. By integrating skill development with job placement, MTN seeks to create a direct pathway to economic opportunities for the nearly 526,000 students already registered with the Skills Academy since its 2022 launch.

The AI functionality is key to personalizing job recommendations and identifying necessary training, which aligns with projections that over 230 million jobs in Sub-Saharan Africa will require digital skills by 2030. This strategic shift by MTN from merely providing digital skills training to actively facilitating employment underscores the critical link between education and economic inclusion on the continent.
