Seychelles-Based Fusepay Unveils AI Operating System for African Trade Businesses
Seychelles-headquartered fintech Fusepay has introduced Fuse360, an innovative AI-native operating system designed to transform daily operations for wholesalers, distributors, and manufacturers. Moving beyond its initial payments focus, the company is now offering a comprehensive enterprise software solution that integrates various critical business functions into a single, unified platform. This strategic expansion aims to address the complexities faced by trade businesses that often rely on fragmented systems, providing a more efficient and integrated approach to management.
Fuse360 combines essential features such as inventory management, order processing, invoicing, customer credit, and collections, all while seamlessly integrating with FusePay, the company's existing payments product. A key differentiator is the inclusion of AI agents, which automate repetitive tasks like payment reconciliation, reporting, and credit monitoring. By operating directly within the platform, these AI tools leverage access to comprehensive business data—from invoices to payment histories—to generate actionable recommendations and automate workflows without requiring manual data transfers between disparate applications.
The launch of Fuse360 holds significant relevance for Africa, given Fusepay's Seychelles base and its explicit targeting of trade businesses across the Indian Ocean and the wider African continent. The timing aligns with Seychelles' ambition to become a leader in AI adoption, a factor highlighted by its strong ranking in the 2020 Government AI Readiness Index. Furthermore, the platform is poised to tap into Africa's substantial trade sector, estimated at $1.5 trillion in 2024, and support the growth of intra-African commerce fostered by initiatives like the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
Fusepay enters a competitive landscape, facing established global ERP providers such as Odoo and SAP Business One, as well as emerging African software companies like Bumpa and Sabi. However, Fusepay aims to differentiate itself by offering a solution specifically tailored for trade businesses, rather than a general-purpose ERP. Following its July launch in Seychelles, Fuse360 is slated for expansion into Mauritius in September, with further entry into selected East and Southern African markets planned for later this year, underscoring its commitment to regional growth.
