AethexAI Secures $3 Million to Build Localized Voice AI for African and Middle Eastern Markets

AethexAI, a nascent voice AI startup, has successfully completed a $3 million pre-seed funding round. This significant investment, spearheaded by 4DX Ventures with additional participation from Enza Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Mojo Ventures, and the Stanford GSB

’26 Fund, is earmarked for the development of localized customer support automation. The primary focus of these advanced AI solutions will be the diverse linguistic and operational landscapes of Africa and the Middle East.

Founded in 2025 by Mariama Diallo and Ayooluwa Odemuyiwa, AethexAI is pioneering its own small-model architecture, known as the Kora series. These models, ranging from 300 million to 1.7 billion parameters, are specifically designed to reduce latency and enhance the accurate processing of regional dialects in English, French, and Arabic. This tailored approach is critical for delivering effective and culturally relevant voice AI interactions across these regions.

The company is strategically targeting high-volume enterprise use cases, including essential functions like Know Your Customer (KYC) verification, efficient debt collection, and streamlined customer activation. Currently, AethexAI demonstrates its robust capabilities by processing over 17,000 calls daily. The newly acquired capital will be instrumental in scaling up enterprise rollouts, expanding API and SDK offerings, and driving further regional expansion.
