Egypt Unveils First National AI Factory in Partnership with Vodafone and Cassava Technologies

Egypt has launched its inaugural national Artificial Intelligence (AI) factory, a significant step towards establishing the country as a regional AI and technology hub. This initiative is a strategic partnership between Vodafone Business and Cassava Technologies, aimed at developing advanced sovereign AI infrastructure within Egypt.

The AI factory will provide a full-stack AI infrastructure, leveraging NVIDIA accelerated computing technologies through Cassava Technologies, which is NVIDIA's first cloud partner in Africa. This setup will enable the local hosting and processing of diverse AI applications and use cases, ensuring data residency and compliance with local regulatory requirements. This is expected to enhance cybersecurity, data control, and accelerate the adoption of modern technologies across government entities, key industry sectors, and for consumers.

The collaboration is set to attract further investments into Egypt's digital economy, create new job opportunities in technology, and empower local businesses to become architects of AI solutions rather than just consumers. Vodafone Egypt is committing over EGP 20 billion in investments during the current fiscal year, underscoring its confidence in the Egyptian market and its long-term strategy for digital infrastructure development. This move positions Egypt to contribute significantly to the global AI innovation landscape while maintaining digital sovereignty.
